Jason Smith is a published best-selling author and memoirist whose writing delves into the complexities of life through an investigative, often clinical lens. He is the author of the memoir The Bitter Taste of Dying and the mind behind Confessions of a Drug-Addicted High School Teacher, currently in development with Universal and Netflix.
Whether dissecting the international opiate epidemic or mapping the psychological terrain of his own past, Jason writes narratives driven by raw observation and gritty reality. His shorter investigative essays and stories are regularly featured on Medium, and can be found published in both print and online sources, including various newspapers, magazines.
Jason’s memoir “The Bitter Taste of Dying” has sold more than 15k copies, and “Confessions…” has more than 100,000 reads. He is currently writing his next book, “Sex on Wednesdays” from his home in Midtown, Sacramento.
When he isn’t outlining his next project, he can usually be found somewhere in California with his dog Charlie, who can usually be found chewing up anything Jason finds valuable or meaningful.
